I cannot seem to generate a "Experience profile ID." When I press the button I receive this error:

 

Invalid request - see details (VALIDATION_ERROR).

 

I have tried using both Live and Sandbox credentials.

See System > Log for detailed information about the problem. In most cases sandbox and production access keys are messed up.

Hmm, maybe its because "to use a live app to directly accept credit cards, you may need to sign up for PayPal Payments Pro (a paid subscription)."

 

I am not signed up for a pro subscription. I thought paypal plus was free.

have you registered by PayPal for paypal plus?
PayPal Plus is only for German shops possible.

locale_code is the language code (for example DE, EN etc.) of the currently selected language when you create the experience profile in the backend.

In your case this code is wrong or not supported by PayPal PLUS. Select another language and try to create the profile again.

By the way, you can also create the profile in the application section of your PayPal account and then enter\save the generated experience profile id

on the configuration page of the plugin.
