HI

 

I currently have version 3 running (to learn about it) and I see there is a Version 5.

 

How can i Upgrade on site to Version 5 while still saving all the definitions , data etc that i already added?

Thanks that is info from 4 to 5 ..

 

I see in documentation for Version 4 to upgrade in need to delete all folders except App_Data and Media

 

I cant find the Media folder??

I had lots of problems trying the upgrade to version 4  I was getting errors on the host and they couldn't help me .(the css wasn' t loading and other issues./

 

So I installed a clean Version 5. I tried doing an restore from the Version 3 DB into the Version 5 .  It does seem to load some of the data correctly but for instance logged in as  admin I can see all the categories listed  but on the menu of categories they don't show??

 

 

Is there anywhere to get the scripts to just take the Version 3 db convert it to 5?

This is not recommended, as there are so many changes in structure. The best way is step by step upgrade. You need to have a working and running v4.2 shop to upgrade it to smartstore v5.0. This is explicitly noted in the upgrade document:
