[Vogelsang - VRS]

Hello!

 

In the current SmartStore 5 release, the Web API module is not yet testable. However, I see in the github repository that it is being worked on diligently. 

 

I have two questions:

1. is there a timeline when the API will be useable (as a beta)?

2. will the API (as in SS4) remain a part of the Community Edition?

But, maybe the developers can give a very rough time frame? 

So for example: In any case, the API module will still be ready for production use by the end of 2022....

 

If no statement is possible at all: We could develop and test the API client based on SmartStore 4. The rest API endpoints will probably generally remain the same in SmartStore 5?

 

Your move to .NET Core is the reason we can use SmartStore at all now. We will host the stores later on Linux servers in any case. I.e. we cannot start SmartStore 5 customer projects before the API is available. Therefore, at least a rough estimate from your team would be very helpful...
