No date yet, but it's on our roadmap. We have more important areas to deal with before, like comprehensive B2B features, MediaManager, Rental products, Multi-vendor and -tenancy etc. Moving to ASP.NET Core is a tremendous task (if you do it the right way!) with relatively little benefit for the end user.

Thanks for the reply  but ASP.NET Core has  big advantage in terms of performance and resources requirements. I understand you have to set priorities but the more you wait the more it will take to migrate. Besides other Windows based e-commerce platforms have already undergone the migration.

Correct, but mostly with .NET Framework 4.6.1 under the hood, and not with .NET Standard Library as it should be if you want to benefit from platform-independency, performance gains and other cool stuff. Upgrading to ASP.NET Core while keeping the old framework is pure eyewash, nothing more. It's just nicer MVC. that's it.

And a real upgrade to ASP.NET Core with .NET Standard is significantly(!) more time-consuming than just upgrading ASP.NET, that's why the others haven't done it yet  ;)

I agree and that's what I meant with moving to ASP.NET Core. The more that you wait and add more new features the more time the real upgrade will take. Others have already undertaken the upgrade.

Over a year has gone and there are not news on this. There are no excuses anymore to move to ASP.NET Core. Is there a date for this?????

I think SmartStore goes very slowly. Their team should revise their strategies & management styles in order to improve their progress. otherwise, the SmartStore <3 will rest in peace ...

I don't think that we're going "very slowly". Last week we released Smartstore.NET 3.2. Please have a look at the changelog.
