I have a question: I just did an upgrade from version 2.1 to 2.6 on my test server, and all looks well, but something strange is going on with the prices displayed.

 

On the live site, when you log in and have an address outside of our country, then prices are displayed without VAT, but on the test server, prices are always displayed with VAT, even when the customer is outside Belgium but within the EU...

 

Any idea what could be causing this?

So, let me answer my own question :-)

 

I came to the conclusion that when you select a shipping address that is in the EU and outside the shop's country, then the site presents the prices excluding tax.

A bit confusing, but logical...

Once you have used a shipping address, the system remembers the address, which means you will continue to see prices ex VAT when you log on next time.

 

I was experimenting with shipping addresses and couldn't figure out why the site was showing prices incl VAT, untill I realized my shipping address was in Belgium...
