Can you guys help me convince management to switch from Aspdotnetstorefront to Smartstore.net? The company has almost finished the implementation of MS Dynamics Nav CRM and now they want to upgrade their e-commerce site (http://www.fitzandfloyd.com/). They have around 12K products and sales over $100 million.

I would very much appreciate good arguments to convince them to migrate to Smartstore.

Hello. So my arguments from customer view are the following:

 

Back-End-Area is easy to understand and to use. Here I like the stock level management and also order and customer management. Because the software is based on.NET it is easy the build interfaces to Microsoft-Products, e.g.,merchandise planning and control system. I have here very good management of returned goods and delivery tracking. It is very helpful.

 

I can divide my customers into customer groups and fix thereby individual prices of these customer groups. There is the possibility for my customers to collect the bonus points what of course leads to return of the customers in my shop. With smartstore.net – you have the mostly used payment interfaces in Europe so you don`t have to worry about it.

 

What I like very much that the shop multistoreable. I can pursue several shops at the same time with different languages and currencies. In addition there is also a Shop-Connector. He imports the articles of one to the other shop. For many products it is ideal. It totally saves a lot of time.

 

With smartstore.net it is possible to administrate subscription products also digital products. It is a rarity to find the software on the market like this. At this time this is very important for publishing companies. Smartstore.net is ideally for it. I hope I could help you.

Is there an ETA for the Dynamics Nav connection?

Does anybody know some weaknesses of AspDotNetStorefront against Smartstore? One is that they are not opensource, although in this case, money is not a big issue.

no, the date is not fixed yet.

 

Of course, every shop software has any weaknesses. However, is always crucial what features you need.

It's best to look at the AspDotNETStorefront forum and imagining your own opinion.

We reviewed ASPDNSF a couple of years ago and it has a lousy architecture which it makes it very difficult to customize. They still run on Web Forms. Besides  their  (http://trends.builtw...otNetStorefront) Builtwith trends show a steep decline in market share.
