I have down loaded smartstore.net and I have unzipped it. BUT nowhere can I find a setup icon? how are you supposed to install this software?

there is no install button. Put all the files in a site in IIS and call the URL of the site.

yes a have some space on a webserver.

so you are not using ftp you want to run the whole package live from the web server so i have to design my shop by logging on to the web server every time i want to work on it? this can't be right?

yes  have down all that and now i have iis with smartstore files unzipped to web directory. But in your very brief installation notes it state state just open in your browser? open one what exactly and where the thing? to open?

let me write is all again i have created iis and unzipped all the smartstore  files into the iis directory. next..... in your very brief in instruction notes you say load the site into your browser and follow the instructions and ENJOY . my ask what do i load into my browser? and where is this loadable file to be found ?

All explained with screenshots under my last posted link. It is called "site binding" and means to bind the site to one or multiple host addresses and ports.

After that you can enter the host name (and optional a port numer if you do not use the standard http port 80) in your brower and it opens the site.
