Hi

I have a sort of dumb issue: I added in the root of the site a plain html page (for landing purpose) that is make the first default document in IIS (and this is reflected also in web.config). But no Mather this, is served directly the smartstore instead. More, if I simply add explicitly in the url in browser, I have an 404 error

Any hints please?

Hi net4u,

do you use the latest version 2.1 or an older version of smartstore.net? in version 2.1, this should be possible without editing the web.config.

I have 2.1.0 All the time just now, was the shop alone (as application, root level, bind as A record e.g. smartstore.mydomain.com ) Last week I have to add a plain html from google (for validating my ownership) Then was the first time when I noticed this behaviour, since google reported that it could not find the plain html.

Today I decided to add a index.html file, as landing page where to present largely the application, I declared in IIS as first default document and continuously IIS served directly the smartstore instead of plain html file. If I point to full url (smartsore.mydomain.com/index.html) I have an 404 error

there must be something in your web.config what blocks the delivery of the html-file.

i tried the same on one of our shops (V 2.1) without a problem: http://shop.2ri.de/index.html .

i would try it with the originally delivered web.config. you can download it from here

I will try. Anyway I did not manually changed the web.config, only the changes induced by IIS when I declared index.html as first document. I will take a look at the original, and then I will compare with the modified. If now success I will come back.

I will try and then come back.

In what concern the update, what is the best practice for keeping the localizations that I already have made? Because in the past, after each update I start again with translations, and I wonder if is another way?

the best way is to export and then re-import the languages.

you don't need to kill your database if you only do an update.

After doing this update (I was on 2.1) I have issues with (most of) images.

There are not displayed and if I inspect the page, I have a 500 result for GET operations for images that not show.

Please delete the file "web.config" from the directory "Media".

Now is ok. Thank you to all guys.

L.E.

Where is the best place to insert a tracking code (a custom one, not a Google Analytics)? I mean what .cshtml view is adequate?

I want to be just before the </body> tag.

And whhere for adding a <meta> ?

L.E. 1

I found it: _Root.head.cshtml and _Root.Head.Mobile.cshtml

L.E. 2

The mobile version is not rendered correct (it looks like it lacks CSS styling). With previous version (2.1) it was just fine.

Hi,

there are also widget zones to insert tracking codes. So you could have done it also in your admin area.

head_html_tag
mobile_head_html_tag

Do you have got an URL so i can have a closer look at the mobile theme issue. This ain't no problem in generel.

Thank you. Now is ok.

I just think now, if is a way for using a different image for logo on mobile theme. Considering the current themes, for mobile I need a logo with an inverse colour scheme.

There's no setting for a mobile logo and i guess there never will be, because we're planning to eliminate the mobile theme and make the default views responsive so they will be displayed well in mobile browsers.

Until then you can edit the following view:

SmartStore.Web->Views->Shared->Header.Mobile.cshtml
