Hi:

A potential customer of us is requiring us to provide some approximate statistics about the number of downloads of Smartstore.net and the number of stores that have been published with Smartstore.net. They want them 1) for the whole history of Smartsotre.net (one year +), for the current year and for september.

the company SmartStore existed since 2000 and we have in Germany, Austria and Switzerland about 15,000 customers.

Thank you Wolfgang. I guess your reply refers to all customers in  Smartstore history, but what my customer wants are the statistics specifically for SmartStore.NET, excluding SmartStore.biz and your other products.

Hi:

I remember that  Codeplex had statistics of downloads. Try getting old smartstore.codeplex.com pages with Wayback Machine. As for published stores a 0.5% to 1.0% of downloads would be a good estimate. I hope it helps.

I found the information I was needing. In case anyone is interested here are the statistics I found for the period form June 6, 2013 to August 3, 2014 there were around 35,000 downloads, considering all released versions, and applying the 0.5% to 1.0% factor the number of published stores was between 175 to 350. For July, 2014 (the last month for which there were statistics) I estimate there were 3,100 downloads and 16 to 31 stores published. Unfortunately there are no download statistics in GitHub, but i assume the number of downloads has declined since GitHub has less visibility than Codeplex.

Well I found an answer here. As of today there are 368 stores using Smartstore.net. Not far from my estimate above ;-)
