Anyone having high memory issues with their smart store?  When you have around 3000 products, the memory on startup is consuming up to 700 MB. Is that normal or is there some memory leak going on?

Check if you have "Customer has spent x amount" rule applied on any discount with the option "Include discounts" activated.
"Include discounts" must not be activated due to a bug.

Do you know where this option is located?  I can't seem to find where it's configured.  Only thing I found was:

 

Ignore discounts (sitewide)

It is an option per discount, not a global setting.
See Promotion -> Discounts -> Edit -> Requirements.

Thank you, I found it. However, I don't have any records setup for promotions.  

Do you know on average how much memory it will take up to launch SmartStore?  My hosting provider is saying the app pool is recycling because I'm exceeding the 800 MB that's allowed for each app pool for the web application.  

 

The problem here is, there isn't any traffic going on.  We just deployed it and launched it with them, and after waiting for 30 mins - 1 hour, the site would go down and I can see the the app pool stopped from my control panel.

 

Any advice would be great.

That sounds not good. I do not know the memory usage but never ever 800 MB.
This behaviour is exactly what the discount requirement rule bug cause.
What version have you deployed? Are there any helpful entries in the log list (see System -> Log in backend).
