I thought i saw this somewhere but cannot find it now, although it may have been in a competitor's product i was evaluating... but:

I want to create a discount themed on Happy-Hour. So this could drive people to buy certain products between 6-7pm for example. I see this as a real win-win for folks.

Is this currently possible somehow? cheers, drew..

Or something like a countdown instead of a happy hour.

At the moment you can only set a special price by date.

A countdown would be useful but in some senses, it is the same thing: a defined start time, and defined duration (either via and end time or a duration). We could market either the same way. So long as it was definable as:

  • occurs daily,
  • occurs weekly,
  • occurs on specific days, etc..

.. then it works. For me, a daily 6-7pm sort of thing would be great. I could manually do this, but that would be very sub-optimal.

A wonderful idea for a plugin. With version 2.1 these sort of things will be much easier to implement as plugins (rather than polluting the core with tons of specific features). Which is the reason why we focus on architecture at the moment rather on features.

I'll file an issue on Codeplex.
