One of our shops has a kind of product with an attribute that has infinite possible values, so it is not possible to add those values to the attribute options. Other solutions allow you to specify a custom value for an attribute in a product.

 

How can we handle this common situation in Smartstore?

Out the box only with a text box. There is already a similar issue. Is that what you're missing or else, could you tell us more details?

I am talking about specification attributes. When you try to create a new one, in Smartstore you have only the option to select a value from a previously defined list (in the screenshot of the demo 128, 256, 320 kbit/s) but imagine that there are thousand of options so the administrator does not want to create that option for each product manually.

 

 

 

In other e-commerce platforms you have the possibility that select the attribute, selecta an attribute option "Custom value" and in that case, you have a textbox in this screen to introduce your "custom value".
