Issue with +/- in mini-shopping cart

We are having an issue with the +/- in the mini shopping cart.  If you click as fast as you possibly can and then go to "checkout" the quantity does not match what you see on the screen.  I have duplicated the issue in both IE11 and chome.

Is there a way to remove the +/-?
